Steamboat Arts Academy offers drama classes for children of all ages and abilities. Our programs are technically driven, preparing students for auditions and performances at both the local and national level.
Our introductory classes allow children to explore the world of drama through improvisation, character development and storytelling. Students will become familiar with common theatrical vocabulary and processes preparing them for performance opportunities.
Novice level classes are designed for middle school students who are looking to develop the fundamentals of acting. Weekly classes will focus on character development, interpretation of material, stage performance and the audition process.
Academy classes are designed to prepare students for live performances and auditions. Students will also work to develop skills that extend beyond the stage, including script writing and directing.
Primary theater classes designed to engage young children in the joy of play acting. Students will engage in role play, storytelling and character development.
Sketch based comedy/performance classes are designed to get kids thinking creatively and enjoying their time on stage. These classes are held separately and may be taken alone or in conjunction.
Focusing on vocal technique, our classes are designed to inspire and train students who wish to taking their acting beyond the written word. Students will receive training in all three disciplines: Acting, Dance and Music.
Musical Theater 3: Students will take Theatrical Dance , Musical/Voice and Theater each week.
Musical Theater 4: Students will take Theatrical Dance 4, Musical Theater 4 and Theater 4 each week.
